  • Luke Colbert

    Private Lessons: Piano and Woodwinds

    Tracy native, multi-instrumentalist Luke Colbert is an avid composer/arranger, writing charts for chamber ensembles, choir, solo keyboards, and jazz ensembles, with a particular passion for video game music. He has recently returned from 7 years in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, where he earned a masters degree in Multiple Woodwind performance from the University of North Texas, instructing classes as a teaching fellow and performing in the North Texas Wind Symphony. After graduating, he served as the Music Director/Organist for Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, TX. In his free time, Luke enjoys freelancing in pit orchestras, accompanying friends on piano, and playing in local bands. Luke has performed with the Canadian Brass, the Barcelona Clarinet Players, Jim Walker, Mic Gillette, and the Lone Star Wind Orchestra among others. His private instructors include David Henderson, Dr. Eric Nestler (saxophone), Dr. Patricia Shands, Dr. Phillip Pagliolonga, Daryl Coad (clarinet), Dr. James Scott (flute), Dr. Rex Cooper, Dr. Sonia Leong (piano), and Patricia Grimm (organ).

  • Elana Cowen

    Private Lessons: (Online Only) Voice

    Elana Cowen, mezzo-soprano, is a recurring performer, voice teacher and music director in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and beyond.

    Ms. Cowen has performed with Opera San José, Utah Festival Opera and West Bay Opera, to name a few. Recent performances include Miss Shingle in A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder with Lamplighters Music Theatre and Praskovia in The Merry Widow with Pocket Opera. 

    In addition, Ms. Cowen has musically directed numerous productions, including Matilda! Junior and Mamma Mia! with the founder of Coastal Currents Conservatory, Mr. Gary Ferguson. Other shows Ms. Cowen has been a part of include Chicago, The Fantasticks, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Legally Blonde Jr.

    Ms. Cowen is a Freelance Voice and Piano Teacher, specializing in singing actors, as well as college and audition prep.

  • Anthony Eiras

    Private Lessons: Voice

    Anthony is thrilled to join the faculty at Coastal Currents Conservatory as a voice teacher and musical theatre extraordinaire. With a passion for storytelling through song and a background in both classical voice and contemporary stage performance, Anthony brings energy, expertise, and industry insight to every lesson and rehearsal. A graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College's Musical Theatre program and current student of Southeastern Oklahoma State's MEd in Theatre Pedagogy program, Anthony has performed in various community theatres, directed youth productions, and coached students toward successful auditions and college programs. Additionally, Anthony is the Choir Director and Musical Theatre teacher at Mercy High School in Burlingame. At Coastal Currents, Anthony is dedicated to nurturing and forming each student's unique voice and empowering them to shine both onstage and off.

  • Adam Green

    Private Lessons: Voice, Viola and Violin

    Oakland Bay Area native Adam Green comes to us having graduated from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in Stockton, CA with dual degrees in Viola Performance and Voice Performance. Adam currently serves as the Director of Music at Skyline High School of Oakland as well as the Assistant Conductor for the Young Musician's Choral Orchestra. Most notably Adam was Awarded the Inaugural Rising Star Educator of the Year (2024) Award by The California Music Educator 's Association.

    In addition to a robust teaching schedule, Adam also maintains an active and eclectic performing schedule throughout the Bay Area and Central Valley regions whether onstage, in the pit, or behind the Director's table. 

  • Ami Nashimoto

    Private Lessons: Piano and Cello

    Ami is a prominent member of the Bay Area music scene, playing with numerous ensembles and bands including The Holloway String Quartet, Mission Baroque, All My Pretty Ones, as well as playing in numerous orchestras and pit orchestras. She studied chamber music under coaches including the Alexander String Quartet, Martina Trumpp, and Yuval Yaron; cello under Carol Rice, Geoffrey Rutkowski, Mario De Secondi, and Sandy Wilson; and played in master classes taught by such artists as the Juilliard String Quartet, Toby Appel, and David Requiro. She studied cello at the Ruth Asawa SOTA, UC Santa Barbara, San Francisco State University for a MA in Music, and at the Musikhochschule Trossingen in Germany.


  • Randall Watts

    Private Lessons: Voice and Piano

    Randall Watts is originally from Kentucky, has lived all over the United States, but is thrilled to make his home for the past ten years in the bay area. He has toured as a professional music theater performer and music director for 12 years before retiring from living out of a suitcase. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Music from Murray State University and graduate work in Opera and Music Theater Performance at Oklahoma University. He is currently a teacher with Mercy High School and performs in community theater on occasion. He is happy to be joining the faculty of Coastal Currents Conservatory.

    Randall has been seen as Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls with the Peninsula Ballet Theatre of San Mateo, Edna Turnblad in Hairspray at Ohlone College of Fremont, Father in Ragtime at MAD Theatre in Tampa, Florida, and the National Tours of A Christmas Carol and George M.
